IAC started primarily in the nuclear industry and has since expanded into the broader energy sector. Through close relationships with well known US experts and engineering service firms, we work with Japanese energy clients to analyze and implement improvements to operations, maintenance and regulations.
Efforts have been concentrated on many issues in the nuclear and non-nuclear energy industries, such as:
- Outage reduction, risk-based management, fuel cycle cost reduction, and operation/maintenance efficiencies.
- Technical research on nuclear power plant cost reduction
- Consultation to assist utilities in adopting new condition monitoring technologies and preventive maintenance optimization methods
- US utility procurement practices which form the basis of international standard bidding systems
- Strategic consulting for business decision-making
- Weekly and monthly information updates
- Procurement decision support
- Online computer nuclear/regulatory database

- Distributed Generation: Current Trends and Future Prospects (2004):
On behalf of our client, IAC investigated the activity status and performance of various public-private DG projects in the U.S., including fuel cells, microturbines, solar power, reciprocating gas engines, and combined heat and power (CHP). The study included a detailed survey of both successful and unsuccessful DG programs and case studies in the U.S. and an analysis of key players, technologies, policies and strategies.
- Aftermarket Services for Gas and Steam Turbine Maintenance- U.S. Business Development (2003/4):
IAC developed a strategic business and marketing plan for our client, a major multinational engineering company, regarding opportunities to extend its gas and steam turbine aftermarket services in the U.S. As part of this effort, IAC identified and short-listed potential customers, channel partners and bidding opportunities.
- Restructuring Electricity Markets- ERCOT Control Area(2002):
Our client, a Japanese utility, requested an analysis of the process of deregulation and restructuring of electricity markets monitored by the Electricity Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). IAC researched the legislative process and transition to the new competitive environment in Texas and its implications for key stakeholders within the ERCOT reliability region.
