Upon graduation from the University of Michigan and starting her career with the International Division of General Motors in São Paulo, Brazil, Ms. McCarthy spent over ten years as a partner/owner of an international marketing firm serving clients and distributors in South America, Germany and Japan. Upon relocation to Washington and completion of a graduate business degree from George Washington University, she was employed for six years in an executive capacity with one of Japan's large construction companies where she served as a liaison with the company's U.S. and European joint-venture partners.
In 1993, she joined International Access Corporation as General Manager of the Washington office where she handles legal, banking, accounting and personnel issues for the company as well as operational procedures for the Washington office. She speaks English, Portuguese and French.
